A pharmaceutical sieve, properly contained, ensures that products are free of contamination and that operators can work safely.
The pharmaceutical sieve plays an essential role in the production process of drugs. It can indeed protect products by avoiding contamination from both large particles (such as lumps, fibers, or threads) and anything else that might accidentally enter during processing (airborne, human, or process contaminants). Moreover, as the quality criteria used in the pharmaceutical industry have tightened, especially concerning the safety of operators, a contained pharmaceutical sieve can also protect them.
Smart Solution for Critical Points.
CSV Containment constantly strives to identify the critical points of each machine, paying particular attention to where there is potential exposure to operators. Thanks to these analyses, carried out by our containment experts, solutions are developed, often tailor-made, to improve prevention and safety.
In the case of the pharmaceutical sieve, after analysis, a dedicated flexible isolator has been designed that literally “dresses” the sieve. Zips help to fit it more comfortably, and an elastic cord allows the closure to be adjusted at the bottom of the machine. During product loading and unloading, spills or contamination episodes can occur, which is why disposable valves can be an effective solution to carry out tasks safely.
Whether cassette or split, active or passive, or universal, valves and their accessories, such as bags, are an effective and safe solution. CSV Containment can prepare or adapt machines to accommodate the valves and ensure their tightness with innovative solutions where standard ones cannot be adopted.
In this case, special adapters have been made that are secured to the drains using inflatable gasket. Compressed air ensures the tightness of the inflatable gasket around the exhaust pipes, and a block valve prevents the risk of air leaks at the inlet. Additional mechanical devices work in redundancy to prevent accidents.
Ergonomics and Useful Accessories.
The LDPE liners are not only custom-made but also designed together with the customer to choose the position of gloves and bag-in/-out sleeves with zips and reusable closures (weloc). Online tests are carried out to test the practicality of the liners, often real FATs, where the customer can see their product mounted on a mock-up. During the streaming session, a CSV operator works on the liner and mockup according to the customer’s instructions. Any changes are incorporated at this stage.
The sieve containment system is composed by:
- A flexible LDPE isolator.
- Three gloves made of butyl Ø270.
- charge point 4″ clamp active cassette
- Two discharging point 4″ clamp active cassette
- A 4” clamp adapter with an inflatable gasket, manometer, and pressure regulator, for each discharging point.
- One pass-through for cable connection.
- One sleeve with zip for bag-in of tools.
- A steel lifter structure with antistatic wheels to support bags in charging operations.
