A new generation Iris Mouse Hole.
What CSV Containment has built is not a black hole allowing to travel to another dimension. Yet, this iris stood out among the most interesting products made by CSV in 2020. A spin-off of the iris in elastomer developed for rigid and flexible containment, this valve has been developed to allow the passage of cables, and small objects, from specific isolated environments to others of superior or inferior category.
A device fruit of the research of materials suitable for the environments in which needs to be used, with particular regard to its weight, design, and overall quality of the valve.
The irises in white elastomer guarantee flexibility and protection. The structure of the valve is in Polyoxymethylene (POM), a technical thermoplastic material used in precision parts that require high rigidity.
However, inside the very heart of this Mouse Hole hides an invisible and precious ally, born from a collaboration built in the very first months of the lockdown.
The small valve has aroused curiosity and attracted not only the operators of the Pharma world but also health professionals, who envision possible uses of this device in the fight against Covid. An example is the interest of a hospital across the ocean which has taken this device into consideration to safely operate in situations at risk of infection.
In those first days of lockdown, the constant research of filters for safety devices, brought about an interesting collaboration between CSV and 3M.
The US company embraced innovation from its very origin and continuously invests in research. The same path pursued by CSV Containment, which during that period was involved in testing couplings in white EPDM, a material that required more care in comparison with silicon. After having tried several solutions available on the market, the encounter with 3M and its technical team was providential. They were able to lead CSV engineers towards a more performing solution, with the laying of a primer to enable the use of one of the leading fastening products of the American giant.
This marks the birth of a connection, a special link that goes beyond the choice of materials, showing that the collaboration between parties engaged in constant innovation can only lead to great developments and the creation of value.
