A personal custom containment expert does exist: with CSV, you can benefit from a truly customized containment service.
Not just a single expert, but an entire team of technicians dedicated to your custom containment is the real promise of our offering for the pharmaceutical world and beyond.
Do you need to develop a containment project where different solutions must interface with each other? CSV Containment is the answer to your needs.
We would like to share a recently completed case for the Spanish market, where a flexible isolator, a disposable containment valve, and a film for a transfer bag—originating from three different suppliers—work perfectly together. We were asked to design a flexible dispensing isolator that could easily interface with Andocksysteme disposable valves, while also allowing the weighing of dispensed material independently from the isolator structure. A special requirement concerned the bags: the client needed to use bags, preferably made from their own qualified and tested materials, to shorten lead times. Is it possible to create fully customized transfer bags?
CSV Containment Custom Transfer Bags.
We offered the client the possibility to develop bags for powder transfer, equipped with a universal clamp to connect to Andocksysteme valves via a locking ring. Our custom bag line, also available in a conductive version, is the fastest and most practical response to specific customer needs, ensuring containment continuity throughout the entire process.
The combination with Avax disposable valves, already used by the client, provides a lightweight structure that integrates easily with a flexible isolator—where stainless steel valves are not always the best fit. In this specific case, weighing was also a key requirement.
Fast and Ergonomic Operations.
How can the coupling between disposable valves be simplified while allowing weighing to remain independent from the structure? CSV Containment technicians addressed this need by leveraging the same coupling system used by Andocksysteme.
The German company uses practical plastic handles for multiple purposes: a tool that allows operators to remove protective caps from valves, couple them, and transport them easily—especially when connected to a bag. Why not use the same tool to secure the valves to the isolator, enabling smooth coupling and decoupling operations?
A simple yet practical solution. This way, after securing the top valve, you can attach the bag for draining; conversely, by securing the bottom valve, you can remove the bag once it’s full.
Accessories That Make the Difference.
To improve ergonomics when working with valves, CSV Containment flexible isolators can be equipped with telescopic systems, either manual or electric. The ability to raise the glove bag legs is a highly useful option that significantly improves operator comfort.
Another functional element is the specially designed support for weighing bags on a scale. Once the isolator–valve–bag system is disconnected from the Andocksysteme handle fixed to the frame, weighing can be performed independently of the frame. This is made possible by the flexible sleeve connecting to the glove bag and the fork-shaped support on which the transfer bag is placed during weighing.
A Fully Disposable Supply Chain.
The flexible isolator is disposable, the valves are disposable, and the transfer bag is disposable. There is still one more disposable element in this project…
In this case, custom transfer bags are used to feed a mixer, specifically a single-use mixer. Single-use mixing of water-like fluids is becoming increasingly widespread, and CSV Containment is ready to launch its own Single Use Liquid Mixer system.
Mix-OneBag will be presented at the next Interphex in New York, in tailor-made versions starting from 20 liters.
